Our Unibus has shrunk again. The expander box has once more left the
system, taking the four disused DZs and the ex-Sanders DL with it.
This time it's for keeps.
My current plan is to leave the DZ configuration exactly the way it is.
DZs A and B are running ttyd00-15, the last of the DZ lines. DZs C-F
are now off the system. DZ C and the DEC distribution panel are
tentatively allocated to the upcoming 34 experimental system, while
DZs D-F and the second Plessey distribution panel are for sale. The
DL and the expander box will remain in inventory for possible future
use.
My original intent was to exchange one of the Plessey DZs now removed
for the Dec DZ, which is (I think) B. What with the way the system has
been running so smoothly of late, I've changed my mind. "If it ain't
broke, don't fix it."
