Star Ring is back on the system, as are Zodiac1 and Zodiac2. Actually,
we're sure Zodiac1 is back but haven't tested Zodiac2 yet. We have
remounted the floppies (after a hurry-up drilling job on their mounting
slides -- thanks, Wern) and reconnected everything. Well, not quite
everything: I didn't bother to reconnect the RJE 05 to its console and
modem cables, but that's hardly important since those cables just
dead-end under the floor right now. The current-loop converters are now
on the bottom of the 05 rack rather than perched on top of each 05.
We invented this arrangement because there isn't enough room on top of
the 05s now (which we didn't realize until we had them mounted!), but
the result does look a good deal neater and I think we'll leave it that
way.
The next step will be mounting the 34 and its auxiliary bits and pieces
underneath the 05s. This will also imply mounting a power panel in
there somewhere, because we're running out of outlets on the 05-rack
power controller. The current RK rack has one that's a good deal neater
than our old one, so we'll use that unless problems arise.
