Added a small flourish to the backup system, a better solution to an occasional need: turning off the backup warnings on a day when backups have been cancelled. The warnings are now sent by a shell file which looks for a flag file first. If the flag file is there, the program exits (removing the flag file first if this was to be the last warning of the day). Nobackup(1) creates the flag file, thus cancelling the backup warnings for the next day when backups would normally be done. -- Henry Spencer @ U of Toronto Zoology {allegra,ihnp4,linus,decvax}!utzoo!henry
