[hacknews] batchq

david@utzoo.UUCP (David Trueman) (12/15/84)

Batchq(1) is the analogue of the printer queue commands (e.g. lpq(1)).
It reports on jobs waiting in any of the queues (currently 0, 1 and 2).
It lists the jobs simply as the user name and the size is implied by the
queue number (0 small, 2 large).

Hpq(1), lpq(1) and cpq(1) now report the title of the queued printouts,
as well as the size and owner. Batchq(1) now reports the destination
(normally lpr, hpr or cpr) as well as the owner and title. It now
also takes a single digit option to print only a single queue.

Ms(1) now supplies destination and title when it calls batch(1).
