[hacknews] this morning's crash

There isn't quite enough information to determine the cause of this
morning's crash, unfortunately.  (Some modifications to our kernel dumper
to increase the volume of stuff it produces have been on the agenda for
a long time; we'll have to move them up on the list.)  The process that
was running at the time (which may or may not have had anything to do
with the problem) was up in the old National memory, which *suggests*
that it was not the new memory at fault... but there's no real proof.

I would expect to see lots more failures if there was anything really
wrong with the new memory, mind you.

Given the known uncertainties about the quality of our power during the
hydro strike, I would guess a power disturbance.  But this is only a guess.
