[hacknews] shutdown vs ed tempfiles

Changed shutdown(1) so that it cleans out leftover editor tempfiles.
These usually represent editors that died, which generally should *not*
be recovered later because it confuses users and often results in damage
to files as a result.  This change doesn't affect normal crash recovery.

While I was at it, I cleaned up and commented shutdown and /etc/rc.
