Regarding what happens to the mobility of a sector that is taken over by the attacker.. in the old (1978 11/70) version, we used to put a bunch of gold bars (we usually had more than we needed anyway) in the sectors that were likely to be attacked. We would set up deliveries so that when the sector update occurred for the attack, the sector would lose at least half its mobility. This usually was enough ( along with the defending forts ) to slow down greedy landgrabbers while you were on vacation. If were caught in a two- front scrap with the neighbors, all you had to do was a mov b x,y 0 in each sector you wanted to drain the mobility, thereby shutting down advances on one front. I forgot to mention in the article yesterday - the Old empire source amounts to just under 10K lines of code.
