Howdy, I remember playing empire on VAX/VMS which was not Peter Langston's version. You played against the computer, and the computer player wasn't half bad. I had the source back when I was running on a DEC-SYSTEM 10 (those were the days, weird but still interesting). I know the computer player in the game was made much more intelligent since I got the source. I now have access to a number of various machines and architectures, including a DEC PDP-11/70, and I would like to be able to get a copy of that version of empire. Binaries would be good, but sources would be much better. Anybody out there know of a way of getting at the program. Is it only available as distributed for VAXen ? Anybody at DEC know anything about it ? -- Ron Moore (818) 887-4950 Logicon, Operating Systems Division 6300 Variel Ave. Suite H, Woodland Hills, Ca. 91367 {ucbvax,ihnp4,decvax}!trwrb!logico!ron {ihnp4,allegra}!cithep!logico!ron

Please post that or send me info if you have any. That program was my altime favorite. Source is a neccesity, though, since I'm on UNIX*. Brian Sutin astrovax!sutin * trademark, uh, uh, ...
