Combien de personnes y a-t-il qui veulent faire partie d'un
groupe francophone? Et comment est-ce qu'on commence?

So far, I've counted nine favorable responses to net.lang.french.
Among the responses, there was one suggestion for an initial
topic - the problems of using a terminal to type french. There was
one comment that the idea of a "french" interest group is too
vague, and that the purpose of the group should be more concrete.
If there are only nine people who are interested...

Though not a native speaker, I'd certainly be interested in French and
Spanish newsgroups. There might be people working in machine translation
who could share ideas. Another possibility is multilingual jokes, e.g.
"Pourquoi est-ce que Fidel Castro porte des bretelles? --Parce qu'il a
le Cuba!" Since these tend to require a rather advanced knowledge of

slang & cultural referents they'd be best on a group of their own.
