I am generally familiar with such features as fast forward and freeze frame so don't bother to tell me what the normal features do, and I know that 4 head designs can handle these features better than 2 head designs. What I don't know is which machines have the best price performance and which ones have the best picture. If you favor a particular manufacturer for quality I'd like to know. I picked VHS over Beta because VHS is reported to have better software support. If you disagree and find that the picture quality Beta gives outweighs the lesser popularity I'd like to know.
