[net.video] Further Inquiry about VCRs

I have received several replies to my questions about VCRs (the value of
buying one, price, repairs, features, etc.).  I would like to canvass the
net one more time.  If you have a VCR, or have researched the market, would
you please send me information or opinions, pro or con, on them.

  I just bought a top-of-the-line Quasar VCR.  I decided to save money
by getting a table model instead of a portable.  My reasoning is to wait
for the "camrecorders" which are cameras that are totally self-contained
(like a movie camera).  RCA and Canon have both announced standard VHS
cameras to be available by the second half of the year.  Meanwhile, I'll
rent or borrow a camera to take pictures of my daughter.
  Question:  Has anybody actually seen the Canon which is supposed
to already be out?  Any comments on the concept?
