A few words of caution: regardless of what the salesmen tell you, it is NOT a good idea to clean consumer VTR tape heads unless picture quality indicates that they need cleaning. Regular "P.M." on the heads (particularly if done incorrectly) will do far more harm than good. Also, avoid like the PLAGUE the "tape head cleaning tapes" -- most of which can do massive damage... --Lauren--

What do you propose be used for cleaning VCR heads. I just bought one
about 2 months ago, and though no picture degradation has occured yet,
I'm just waitin' for the day. What's the difference between cleaning
heads in a VCR and in a stereo tape deck??
