I'm looking for a good reference book on alignment and calibration of the sort of video equipment found in TV studios. The actual application is a computer graphics lab which has a broadcast-quality NTSC encoder and sync generator to provide NTSC video for recording. We also have video distribution amplifiers to distribute both NTSC and RGBS video to monitors and a camera. I need a reference which explains in gory detail how to set up all of the analog adjustments in this equipment. We will soon have a video waveform monitor and vectorscope to measure the signals. A handbook aimed at the chief engineer of a television studio would be about right, I think. Does anyone have any recommendations? Something which specifically talks about the sort of test signals which can be generated with a good frame buffer (Ikonas) would be marvellous, but I expect I'll have to settle for things oriented to the television industry, which is okay. And to all of the people out there who have similar equipment, would anyone care to share their experiences or their problems? Discussion probably should be confined to net.graphics, so please delete net.video from the newsgroup list if you followup this article.
