I'm thinking of buying a Beta hi-fi system, and am choosing between the Sony SL-2710 and the NEC VC-739E (reviewed in the August '84 issue of VIDEO). The major difference I notice is that the NEC has four heads instead of two; I understand that this is an advantage from the standpoint of lack of distortion lines during fast speed... but what are the disadvantages? Also, in the VIDEO review, they mention that the NEC is the second or third best Beta Hi-fi machine out there, depending on the features... what do they think is #1 (and #2)? Any recommendations or detractions of either of these models would be appreciated; even if you post the answer, please MAIL me a copy also... I'd like to but this fairly soon, and the mail will reach me faster! Thanks in advance... "The bigger they are, the nicer they are..." Moriarty, aka Jeff Meyer John Fluke Mfg.
