The comment that Hi-Fi recording had ".00zilch" distortion was perhaps a bit optimistic. The actual values are around .1 to .3%, still far better than the standard recording method. Also, I agree about the availibility of Beta tapes vs. VHS. In my area of Southern New Hampshire, I know of at least two stores that carry over 1000 tapes in Beta. One store has more Beta than VHS. The other has more VHS, but that's because they were a VHS-only store for 3 years before the increasing demand for Beta caused them to start carrying Beta. Both stores order everything in both formats. Most stores may order more copies in VHS, because there are more customers, but I have no problem ever finding tapes I want in Beta.
