Don't worry, the Laser Disks are here to stay is my bet (although I have not bought one yet.) I was told recently that new players are coming in March '85 that will play both video disks and CD's. In addition control of interactive video disks by personal computers is now available. When you also factor in the new 8 inch video disks, it looks like Laser Disks can hold and grow their market share. Now if the price would only come down (hardware and software), and they weren't just read-only.
