My father has a VHS recorder and the fine tuning on this machine works only for channels 2 through 13. When he tries channels 14 through 30, he is unable to use his recorder as the signal is unsatisfactory. Has anyone had this problem? Is there any remedy for this difficulty. Thanks in advance. First of all, make sure that a reasonable UHF signal is being delivered to the VCR. Will the signal display properly on a conventional television? If the signal is weak, you can buy a broadband VHF/UHF amp to boost it. I recommend dealing with commercial cable-tv supply houses rather than Radio Shack type outlets whenever possible. --Lauren--

Most video recorders require a seperate antenna hookup for UHF. Does he have such an antenna attached? If he is running off a cable which carries UHF (not all do) then he will have to use a VHF/UHF splitter to attach it to both the VHF and UHF inputs to the recorder. Raan Young (hp-pcd!raan)
