[net.video] Need Help on What is the best brand

Wait a minute...are you saying that you have sampled one machine each from
Panasonic and JVC and since one has given problems and the other hasn't, you
come to the conclusion that JVC overextends their capabilities???  That isn't
accurate statistics.  Perhaps you need to try another dealer for service.

I have had a JVC deck for 2 years with no problems.  Obviously, that means
that JVC makes flawless machines. (:-)

I've been pretty happy with my Panasonic 1520 (not one of the
new upper models).  I did have to bring it into the shop
for head realignment after 1 year of heavy use.
(I kept seeing "drop-out" - a horizontal
line that wouldn't go away).  Anyway, the guys at the shop
were very surprized that any trouble had developed with the
machine.  They told me that they like the Panasonic models the
best and hardly ever see them come in for repairs.
