I am not yet ready to buy a VCR but I am still interested in gathering information to influence my final decision. What I am asking is just what features people find to be usefull and which ones are more or less to be considered bare essential and neccesary. For example right now I feel that what I will be looking for is a four head machine ( as opposed to 2 or 5 heads ). I also don't see much use for more that 1 event 8 day programming. As for remote control well I have a remote on my TV which I love mainly so I can change chanels during commercials and watch different shows at the same time. Buy I don't find it to be as a required feature for a VCR. Comments and suggestions are welcome and encouraged! Guy A. I find the remote control on my VCR to be its most useful feature and essential. If you ever use you VCR to time-shift material, then having the remote control to scan-forward over the commercials is wonderful. This presumes that the VCR has scan-forward, but most do. I tend to agree with the programmable memories, I usually only use one event. -- Louis A.
