Ok here it is. My friend has a vcr (cable ready) that bypasses his cable box. He has a switch that goes between his vcr and tv so that he can watch tv on one channel and record on another. So far so good. He can record on all channels except six, but he can watch six on the tv. So he takes the vcr to another location across town everything is fine. He can record channel six. Takes vcr to people next door, no channel six. Ah! you say cable problem, yes but my question is why can he watch six on his tv, but not record it. Remember it worked at his parents.
