I'm thinking about purchasing a video camera/recorder for home use. After just screening slides and 8mm movies I took 15 years ago, and finding that they were starting to fade on me, I have decided I want a more permanent record. I think that I would prefer an all-in-one unit (I've looked at the JVC camcorder), but as I am not familiar with the technology or products, I am looking for any information about what is worth the money. Any pointers to good magazines in which to read reviews would also be appreciated. Information on accessories which are 'necessary' and good prices would also help. As this discussion probably crops up every 3 months or so (as in other news groups), I apologize beforehand. As always, send mail to me and I will summarize the information for the net.
