I need help! I will be purchasing my first color TV (currently have a 13" black & white) and I am getting concerned that my new set will be obsolete within 1 year. I hear about stereo TV broadcasts on the "major networks" this summer. Flat-screen TV's. High-resolution TV's. PIP (picture-in-picture) feature. Digital TV's. I even have a question about remote control. I have been planning to buy a 19" color TV w/remote for <= $500 (Sony, Toshiba, Sanyo, Mitshubishi...) The question about remote control: I'm sure I'll purchase a VCR in a year or two. I would like it to have the remote control feature, too. Does this mean I have a remote controller that doesn't get used? I've heard that alot of people w/VCR's use the tuner of the VCR as the input to their set even when they are not taping anything. This means they need to use the remote control manufacturers' remote controller for a TV also work on one of their VCR's? I'd rather not waste the $100 for remote control TV if I won't be using it when I buy a VCR. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. I would like to buy a color TV with the following features: 19", wireless remote, cable-ready, stereo output jacks (so I can buy a pair of speakers to reproduce the output), <=$500. HELP!
