I am interested in picking up a second VHS machine for dubbing purposes. As I see it, I have three possibilities: 1) A second tabletop VCR 2) A portable player to be later used with a camera. 3) A VCP, or player-only unit. I plan on getting a camera in about a year, but when that happens I will probably get a camcoder of some sort, so that puts #2 a little out of reason. Even getting only the transport section of the portable unit is expensive. Without saying, getting a second recorder is an expensive route and a little unnecessary. Lately though, I have been thinking of a VCP, but I need some info about them. How is the quality of playback in them. Who manufactures them. Do any have HI-FI audio (My present deck is HI-FI). Would it be cheaper to buy the recorder half of a cheapo portable. Does the quality of playback ability decrease as you go from expensive downward. Any other suggestions you can offer will be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Mark Nevar
