Sorry for the delay on the request, but the base note got zapped and I forgot.
In the DFW Texas market, here is the current TV channel status:
Channel Call Affiliation Audio
4 KDFW CBS mono
5 KXAS (formally WBAP) NBC mono
8 WFAA ABC mono
11 KTVT Independent,
"Superstation"-
hopeful mono
13 KERA PBS stereo
21 KTXA Independent mono
27 KDFI Independent mono
33 KRLD Independent mono
39 KXTX Independent mono
49 KLTJ Independent-LD* mono
X1 ---- Independent-LF ?
X2 ---- Independent-LD ?
X3 ---- Independent-LF ?
The Xn stations will be low power stations with license grants occurring
next month.
* Low power, barely viewable >10 miles from transmitter (Dallas)
Channel 8 appears to be the only online station making moves
toward installing a stereo transmitter, but until the network
(ABC) makes the plunge, they aren't in a big hurry.
<The above is my opinion, or at least what I read, and not that of
my employer; IBM doesn't sell TV stations.>
"Thank you, Uh Clem."
