I have a 1976 RCA XL100 19" portable with an odd-ball problem. Has anybody else seen it? Every few hours--or minutes--the synch goes seriously out of whack. The horizontal oscillator frequency drops to around 5 KHz and the vertical size shrinks. Fiddling with the horizontal hold control restores synch. I have the SAMS Photofact (TM) for the set, and I have made all the checks you can make with a (FET) ohmmeter on the horizontal/vertical module. (This doesn't prove anything, since the problem only appears when the set has been on for a while.) Some twitching in the picture when the set is working "correctly" makes me suspicious of the power supply, but I have not checked it. Any suggestions before I go looking for a 'scope to borrow? TIA--
