I know the USA and UK VHS formats are totally different, but I want to send USA VHS tapes to the UK so my parents can see their grandchild. They have a monitor capable of 525 line display. Do VCRs care about the power frequency? Dave Nixon AT&T ihnp4!ihuxn!loui

I have brought audio equipment the other way, Europe to USA, with no problems other than my reel to reel tape deck. It uses a phase locked motor and so ran significantly faster here, until I switched the capstan. My cassette deck was unaffected. I also have a PAL tv set, ( monitor for my atari ) which will display US tv broadcasts in black and white. I suspect that you can leave your monitor here if you can get access to one in england. The sync signal should keep the picture sane.
