Regarding the question of which tapes to use in a SuperBeta VCR - I recommend the use of a high-grade tape. This allows you to set your VCR's "detail" switch to the "high" setting so as to make best use of the tape for the best pictures. (Some Sony models have this switch.) In any event, SuperBeta depends on extended bandwidth for its increased resolution, so don't cheat yourself by using poor tape. My personal favorites are Sony UHG and Maxell HGX or HGX Gold. The "Hi-Fi" notations are mostly a gimmick. TDK tape is well thought of, though I haven't used it. As for the person looking for a "left-eyed" camcorder - I believe that the Sony BMC-550 (and perhaps the BMC-660) allows the viewfinder to be swiveled around for left-eyed viewing. I do note, however, that none of the camcorders I have seen take left-handers into consideration. Steve
