I've come across blank VHS tapes by Akai that are 3 hours long; the designation is E-180, and the price is pretty good: $5.25. (This price is at a place that sells Scotch, TDK, JVC, etc. T-120's for about 4.50) Has anyone used these, or any other 180 minute tape? Are they prone to breaking? Is the recording quality better or worse than 120 tapes? What does the "T" in T-120 mean? What does the "E" in E-180 mean? The blurb inside the Akai tape says they also make E-240's; anyone ever see these? Tom Ostrand Siemens Research, Princeton, NJ ...ihnp4!princeton!siemens!gypsy!tjo

I think these are European tapes, and are actually only 2 hours. I don't know what the E stands for. Anthony Albert ..!ucbkim!albert albert@ucbkim.berkeley.edu

They are two hours long. I just got one in Ecuador that plays perfectly well on my VHS machine, and it's two hours (and a tad) long. The "E", "T", and "L" designations have also been a mystery to me.
