The home video releases of the Star Trek episodes on LaserVision are indeed spectacular. The film-to-tape transfers are well done. The resolution of the LV medium allows you to see things you did not see 'back when', like the obvious color change at the interface between Spock's ear and his prosthesis. Or the plastic toys used as weapons. But one did not watch ST for its special effects or futurism. The STORIES were timeless and universal (no pun) during the first two seasons. After the first 10 or so episodes required to settle down and stabilize the characters, the remainder of the first two seasons are phenomenal, especially considering the production schedules required for a weekly 1-hour special effect and set-intensive dramatic series. Whenever I watch one of their best epi- sodes, I wonder what television has to offer now? Only British imports. --Kne BTW, try _Star Trek III, The Search for Spock_ in LaserVision, with SurroundSound decoder running a pair of Carver 400t's, Sony APM55w's in front, Yamaha NS1000's in rear, 78" projector in a room far too small to contain it. The Cinerama Dome (Hollywood, to you foreigners) has nothing to compare! ASSAULT MY SENSES UNTIL I BLEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (alt: SEX? SEX!? I DON'T NEED NO STINKING SEX!)
