[net.video] 75 & 300 Ohm leads combined

My in-laws are having trouble with antenna signals from their new vcr to the
tv. They have got a Sony 2670 which has only one input (75 Ohm). The signal
splitter is already built into the tv. However their vcr, like all vcrs I
have seen, has seperate inputs and outputs for vhf and uhf. They can not
take the 75 ohm output from the vcr and input it into the tv because the
signal for uhf stations is affected. Do I need something special to combine
the two signal outputs from the vcr or would a signal spliter work if I
reverse the signal flow on it???

There's no reason you can't use both a splitter and a matching
transformer. There will be a little loss, but it should be
negligible. At worst, you may want to add a $ 15 line amplifier.
