Does anyone know of a manufacturer of Printed Circuit board mountable MATV signal splitters? Any leads will be appreciated. Also, are splitters the only device available for routing a signal to more than one place? The question stems from a description of a product that I saw in a catalog that claimed essentially no loss due to splitters because they use some kind of switch instead of splitters. kevin@ucbvax.berkeley.edu

A switch is going to introduce loss too. And a switch doesn't do the same thing as a splitter. A splitter divides the signal and distributes it to several lines. A switch routes it to one of several lines. So you should get less, but not zero, loss with a switch. If you're talking about a conventional television or cable television signal, booster amplifiers are available for less than $ 15. I used one before a splitter with 7 db loss and a 100' coax attached, and the results are very nice.
