[net.video] Good monitor/receiver wanted

Schauble@MIT-MULTICS.ARPA (Paul Schauble) (03/21/86)

I am interested in purchasing a top quality monitor/receiver. It should
include MTS/SAP, direct video input, cable tuner, and remote control.
My problem is that this combination seems to occur only on large, like
26" sets. I don't have room for this. Can anyone suggest an equally
well appointed 19" model??

          Thanks,

The Sony KV20XBR is a 20" clone of it's big brother the KV25XBR. I have the
25 and am very pleased and impressed with it. My only gripe is that Sony
claims in the manual that it is all set up for RGB (computer) input - what
they fail to mention is that to accept RGBI (digital RGB, what most PCs use),
you need an extra adapter box that costs $80 and is generally *not available*.
I believe Toshiba also has a 20" (digital?) monitor/receiver that can do
split screen effects.

How about a Sony 20XBR? We have one here in our office and it appears
to have everything the 25XBR does. There is one difference which I am
puzzled over - the on-screen display of the volume, etc. stays on the
screen unless the last command was to lower it! My 25XBR doesn't do
this.
