> Anyone interested in APL idioms should look for STSC's booklet > _Collected Whizbangs_. I have one labeled "Volume 1," so there may be > several. It is an excellent reference on better programming in APL, > including "idioms" and explanations of why technique A works better than > technique B in a given situation. STSC is located at 7316 Wisconsin > Ave., Bethesda, MD 20014 (301) 657-8220. I've no connection with > STSC. Actually, STSC moved years ago. They are now at: STSC, Inc. 2115 E. Jefferson St. Rockville, MD 20852 (301) 984-5000 The "whizbangs" are excellent tutorials as well as idiom references. They were written by Roy Sykes, who knew (&knows) more about writing APL applications than 99.9% of the APL programmers who ever lived. He wrote them as a series of columns for the STSC newsletter, and they were so popular that they were eventually collected and republished. I have no connection with STSC. I am a member of "XSTSC" however, which is the organization for ex-STSC employees. (I left in '77.)
