I am currently building a 10 family purple martin house. The reference book I'm using says to paint the house white. I had planned to paint all the wood (exterior grade plywood), inside and out, so as to preserve it longer. However, someone suggested to me that the birds wouldn't come near the house if it smells of paint. Does anyone have any suggestions/comments on the merits of painting the inside of a purple martin house?? Linda Kopecky houxj!llk FJ x4193
