[net.rec.birds] NJ Spring Migrants

5111rd (04/28/83)

Spring migrants are finally arriving in Monmouth County, NJ.
The Indigo Buntings at my house yesterday turned out to be 2
male and 3 female. They were still feeding this morning.
       (# 144 for NJ 1983).

Also this morning there were two Rufus-sided Towhees (1
       male, 1 female), for # 145.

At noon today at Holmdel (Bell Labs) there was a Prairie
Warbler (# 146), a pair of Eastern Meadowlarks, a Broad-
winged Hawk (# 147 for NJ in 1983, a new record for Bell
Labs), a Red-tailed Hawk, plus a Great Horned Owl (also new
for Bell Labs) being chased by a dozen crows.
