With the introduction of comp.binaries.ibm.pc.archives I intend to see about resuming publishing one of the weekly garbo.uwasa.fi download statistics. As some readers may recall this was not liked by all in comp.binaries.ibm.pc.d, but the new .c.b.i.p.a newsgroup is specialized for purposes such as this. Why publish such statistics. Because I feel that users will benefit from seeing what is currently popular, and may thus also get ideas what they need. Also uploaders will probably be interested to see how their goods fare. Here are the download statistics for garbo.uwasa.fi archives for the period from Fri 14-Jun-91 to Fri 21-Jun-91. This version of the download list is based on samples taken at 20 minutes intervals on the access time changes of the directories. Thus the statistics is quite approximate. The list is cut off at 10 downloads. The original list contained 1617 items. The approximate total number of downloads was 6350 files. The files with no description are either no longer on garbo.uwasa.fi lists (they were mainly old versions) or there is some technical problem with the description. This download statistics covers the /pc directories (and /unix/ts).
