In my wanderings through the University of Wisconsin Arboretum recently, I spotted a bird for about a second which I would swear was a Northern (Oregon) Junco. There are scores of Slate Juncos in Wisconsin, but Northern's are indicated as being occasional accidentals east of the Rockies. I was just wondering if any other easterners on the net have run across one in this or past winters. On another topic, this group has been rather dead since I subscribed, so I'd like to suggest a couple of topics. (1) Does anyone subscribe to *Birdwatcher's Digest*? I believe that's the correct name, but I do know that it is published in Marietta, Ohio. Just wondering if it's worthwhile. (2) I for one would be interested in hearing descriptions of outings by netbirders giving weather, region, habitat, birds seen, etc. If anyone indicates an interest in such exchanges, I'd be happy to start off. -- Jeff Myers The views above may or may not University of Wisconsin-Madison reflect the views of any other Madison Academic Computing Center person or group at UW-Madison.
