As other participants have pointed out, many of the topics raised here pertaining specifically to virtual worlds ("virtual reality") are being discussed on sci.virtual-worlds. Often the discussants are people doing serious work in the area, and are willing to share tips about how-to. You are all welcome to join. As to comp.human-factors, I would really appreciate it being turned a bit more in the direction of human factors research -- what it is and how we should measure human-machine communication -- rather than having it dwell overly much on interface design issues. Granted, the inter- face is today's gateway to the computer mind and vice versa, but the question of the communication that takes place in, on, and around that gateway is considerably broader.
