A friend and I bagged 25 birds on Sauvie Island (near Portlan, Oregon) this morning. It was a cold and wet day, but after snagging a sandhill crane, northern shrike, and snow goose the going got a lot easier (these three birds plus the marsh hawk and whistling swan were lifers for me). We were hoping to see a bald eagle, but apparently the eagles were smarter than we were. I've included the entire list for your pleasure. sandhill crane northern shrike snow goose marsh hawk whistling swan great blue heron crow song sparrow american kestrel starling mallard killdeer r.s. flicker canadian goose robin pintail duck american widgeon scrub jay oregon junco g.c. sparrow chickadee g.c. kinglet red tailed hawk brewers blackbird ring billed gull Dale Henrichs
