[net.rec.birds] Snowy Owl in Bayonne, New Jersey

jca@abnji.UUCP (james armstrong) (02/18/85)

A snowy owl has been inhabiting the Global Pier in Bayonne, New Jersey
this past winter. You get there by taking exit 14A off the NJ Turnpike.
Follow the ramp directly opposite the toll booth to the end. Follow that
road straight out to a landfill. It is there, or so I've been told.
Good luck!

(PS 11 red tailed hawks in I-80 between I-280 & Rt 46! Anybody else count
hawks while going somewhere in a car?)

There appear to be several red-tailed hawks in the Rochester, NY area. One
likes to sit on a bridge over I-490 in a local park - it's very
disconcerting! They have also been seen on lampposts on the interstates.
