rich@pencil.cs.missouri.edu (06/14/91)

Following is a very unofficial translation by the Nicaragua
Network Education Fund, of the FSLN position on UNO dropping the
World Court case and explaining their decision to withdraw from
the National Assembly.
                     -------------------------
DECLARATION

From the Coordinator of the Executive Commission of the National
Directorate of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN),
Commander of the Revolution Daniel Ortega.

The National Assembly repealed law 92, which guaranteed the
defense of the fulfillment of the ruling by the International
Court of Justice, in which the United States Government must
compensate Nicaragua for the damage caused by the war.

This historic decision, which is a national legacy, a legacy of
the countries of the third world, a legacy of international
rights, is threatened today by those who have sold their votes in
order to abolish it.

The National Directorate of the FSLN denounces this act of those
who, in selling their votes, are betraying Nicaragua, betraying
national dignity, betraying the interests of people in the third
world and betraying international rights.

The representatives of the Sandinista National Liberation Front
have withdrawn from the National Assembly, since no point of view
will make us accomplices to this act of betrayal, that
works against the stability of the country.

The Sandinista National Liberation Front will defend, with the
people of Nicaragua, the strict fulfillment of the ruling of the
International Court of Justice.
