Electronic is composed of: Bernard Sumner (New Order) Johnny Marr (formerly of The Smiths) (They have written, or helped to all songs on this album) Pet Shop Boys' contributions: Neil Tennant sings on 2 songs: Getting Away with it & The Patience of a Saint He also helped to write these songs Chris Lowe plays keyboards on The Patience of a Saint He helped to write this song. But *only* Bernard and Johnny are actually part of this group--There has been much confusion concerning that before. Tracks include: 1) Idiot Country (5.00) *** it's an ok song..Bernard's attempt at "rap" is kind of amusing. 2) Reality (5.39) ** not a very impressive song. 3) Tighten Up (4.37) ***** Tied for best on album. Bernard (who does all programming) does a very impressive job. 4) The Patience of a Saint (4.09) ** Sounds like a dull Pet Shop Boys song. 5) Getting Away with it (5.14) **** I like the combination of Bernard's and Neil's vocals on this one. (1st single released) 6) Gangster (5.24) Pretty impressive programming-I feel the beat was not as appealing as Tighten Up's. 7) Soviet (2.00) **** Nice instrumental 8) Get The Message (5.19) ***** Very Danceable!! Should be fun-mixed- or unmixed-in the clubs (2nd single released) 9) Try All You Want (5.37) *** It's mediocre..about the same type as Idiot Country. 10) Some Distant Memory (4.10) ** Wasn't very appealing..gave same type or reaction as Reality 11) Feel Every Beat (5.06) **** This had a good beat to it. Again Bernard's "rapping" made the song fun. Total Time = 52.31 minutes Average Score = *** Geared towards: Those who enjoy technopop, New Order, Pet Shop Boys music I still feel that it was worthwhile to purchase, even though it may not be the best purchase I made this year. If you are into technopop, NO and/or the PSB's I think that you will enjoy this. Have Fun! --Renee C. Mecca
