That matches with my crude status-checks on bitftp@pucc.princeton.edu. Before bitftp cut off non-bitnet sites, they typically had a 500+ job backlog queue. Sometimes jobs took several days to complete, even with multiple worker-machines (sort-of like processes - pucc is a VM system) processing requests simultaneously. Recent inquiries have showed a typical job queue under 100 jobs, and the largest job-queue I saw was 167 jobs. Doug
