Saturday 15 June
 - 14.00 introduction and presentation of the participants

The objective of this session is to provide an overview of the evolution of
the national and international networking as well as to define a common
"glossary" of the networking terminology that will help the participants
to better follow the workshop and the INET conference.

 - 17.30 recess

Sunday 16 June

 - 9.00 telecommunication issues
  speaker to be appointed

This session will provide a summary of the different communication
techniques that provide the basic layer for the different data-
communication protocols.

 - 10.30 Computer Mediated Communication Systems:
  electronic mail, computer conferences etc.

Description of the different services available and its impact in the
scientific and academic community.

 - 12.00 Internetworking
  M. Sommani

Interoperability of networks utilizing different techniques or protocolos
that finally provide transparency to the end user.

 - 13.00 lunch break
 - 14.00 internetworking continuation
 - 15.00 technology choices
  E. Puliatti, Ted Hope and others
This session will focus on simple and inexpensive solutions that
represent an "appropriate use of high technology" applicable in any
developing country.

 - 16.30 organization managing and training issues
  S. Trumpy

The establishment of a network and the solution of the connected
technical problems represent only the first step. This session will focus
on all the aspects connected with the administration of a network.

 - 17.30 recess

Monday 15 - Thursday 20 morning: INET '91 Conference

Thursday 20 June

 - 14.30 Building or improving academic and research
  networks in Developing Countries.
  Round table: E. Puliatti, S. Trumpy, S. Wolff, E. Zorn,
   Y. Mentalecheta.

After the conclusion of the INET '91 conference, this round table and
discussion with the workshop participants will focus on specific
problems that each country could face to connect to international
networks.

 - 17.30 Closing of the workshop.
