I've developed a system for reading news
under Desqview that saves me a lot of time
and may be helpful to other folks.
Briefly, I use the following two DV macros:
First Macro
Download a list of all "subjects" in the
current newsgroup (using the "="
command). Once the list is downloaded,
open a DOS window and use the public
domain TED editor to edit the file
containing the "subjects".
Second Macro
I then scan the list of subjects looking
for something that I would like to read.
The second macro then grabs the article
number from the current line, switches
back to the News window and types the
number. I then read the article and
repeat the process.
The system is not perfect but it works for me.
Please let me know if you have questions (I'm not a
Unix guru but I use DV quiet a bit).
Enjoy,
