Hello there
~~~~~~~~~~
I use a
  386 40MHz (By AMD)
  80MB WD IDE drive
  EVEREX 2400 MNP5 modem
  4MB of memory.
The problems occured while using the system with:
  QEMM 5.11
  DesqView 2.31
  Telemate 2.11 communication program.
  & 4DOS 3.02/3.03 both versions were tested.
  I executed telemate in one window, and started downloading a file using
  ZMODEM protocal (internal to telemate). Then I opened another window
  BigDos which executed 4dos in my system. Up to here everything went ok
  - The file continued downloading and everything went by the book.
  BUT - as soon as I accessed the disk in any way from within the 4dos
  (BigDos window) there were errors encountered in the download, the speed
  went down fast - and it was impossible to use the disk from the 4dos
  window.
  I tried this MANY times will all sorts of configurations and here are a few
  of my conclusions to help you discover where the problem lies:
  1. When using command.com there were NO PROBLEMS !!!!!
  2. Sometimes after playing around in the 4dos the errors stopped (even
     though at the beginning there were errors - maybe it is because the modem
     started transfering small blocks.
  3. I think that if I tell 4dos not to swap (that means stay resident and eat
     about 70K of my system memory when starting it within desqview window )
     there were no problems - I cant be sure of that since I havent tested it
     very much.
  4. It was tested both with a cache and without - Using once HyperDisk 4.21
     and PC-KWIK.
  5. During normal work with the modem (ie not when downloading with ZMODEM)
     I had no problems - no characters were lost, and it seemed to work
     perfectly.
  Please, let me know where did I go wrong (if I did) or check it out if
  possible, I will be glad to assist you in any way I can to fix this problem
  in case it is fixable.
Pre-Thanks very very much for reading
