Hello netters, We have a problem with an apparent incompatibility between DesqView 386 and Novell Netware 286. Here's the environment: DesqView 386, V 2.3 QEMM 386, V 5.1 Novell Netware 286 V2.15 Telex 386 PC's 3-Com Ethernet Boards (503's) - Switch settings are IR3, memory disabled, I/O base = 300 MS-DOS 3.3 Problem: Yesterday the Novell drivers for the 3_Com boards were upgraded to the latest shell version. When they are loaded, DV hangs whether we are going into the file server (another 386) or a PC application. We re-ran Optimize for QEMM after the drivers were upgraded, which didn't help. We are loading IPX and Net3 high because the PC application uses 530K of RAM. (The PC has 4Meg). We have been able to break out of the hung mode a few times, and receive QEMM exception #13, and then the PC stays hung, unable to break out of that state, requiring a power reset (Ctl-Alt-Del doesn't work). This is our central Help Desk that is being affected and it's driving the crew crazy. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks - Jerry Roe National Semiconductor Santa Clara, CA jrr@nsc.nsc.com
