[comp.org.acm] membership contributions

pmartz@undies.dsd.es.com (Paul Martz) (05/01/91)

On this year's (and last year's) membership form, I noticed a $15
charge labeled "optional contribution", in addition to the $10 charge
for WGBH. Does anyone know what this "optional contribution" is for? I
could find no explanation for it in the mailing that accompanied the
bill.

I have question regarding WGBH. Why should foreign subscribers be charged
this $ 10 amount? They will never benefit from it.

This is exactly why I have not paid it. Note that you are always free
to cut out (and not pay) these optional contributions.
