[comp.org.acm] International SIG ballots

craig@sics.se (Craig Partridge) (05/21/91)

Hi folks:

I'm trying to locate other people outside Norht America who have had trouble
getting their SIG ballots for this month's SIG elections.

My SIGCOMM ballot was mailed partial air, and took 4 weeks to reach
me here in Sweden. My SIGOPS ballot was similarly delayed.

I've been in contact with the folks at ACM headquarters and they
are running traces to learn why some ballots weren't mailed full airmail.

I have a few addresses of other victims of the mail system, but would
appreciate more, to help ACM fix this problem. So,

    * IF you are a SIG member outside North America;

    * AND you either have not received your ballot yet, AND you know
	your SIG holds an election this spring;

    * OR, got your ballot and it was not sent full airmail;

THEN please drop me a note giving your name, address, and the SIG for
which you had mailing problems. I'll forward the resulting list (if any)
on to ACM Headquarters.

PS: Please note, I am not an entirely disinterested party in this activity.
I am a candidate for SIGCOMM chairman. However, I am helping with this
tracing purely in the interests of making sure that eligible voters get
a chance to vote. If, for any reason, due to my interest in the election
results, you would prefer to deal with ACM directly, the person at ACM
is Pat Ryan (patryan@acmvm.bitnet).
