I have had much luck with a shelf feeder (we use a 1ft by 1ft box open at one side) that is mounted on a pole about 5 ft off the ground. On the pole about 3 ft off the ground we attached a piece of sheet metal bent into a funnel pointing up. The edges of this funnel must stick out away from the pole by one foot. What this does, is that the squirrl can climb the pole by cant reach to the edge of the funnel to pull itself up. Make sure that the feeder is where the squirrel can not jump on to it from another tree. |__________| | | _| |_ / | | \ / | | \ / | | \ | | | | | | This is just for example.
